From the time I was a senior in high school, I knew I wanted to be a counselor, and I cannot imagine doing anything else. I have been in the mental health and substance abuse fields since 2007 and know it is a privilege to be trusted by clients to hold space for their hurt and be able to witness their journey of self-discovery to lead healthy, more balanced lives.

Over the years, I have committed myself to personal and professional growth that enhances my work with clients. I am certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Having this expertise, allows me to treat trauma with a mind-body connection traditional therapies are unable to access. I know we cannot choose what happened to us in our past, and I also fully believe we can commit to healing from old wounds, to minimize the power they hold over us.

I also know how difficult the social world can be for some. This difficulty can manifest in the home, in relationships outside the home, or in the work or school setting. I especially have an interest and passion for families or individuals who have Autism Spectrum Disorder and/or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. I celebrate diversity in how people’s brains process information, and work with my clients to find the strengths with this to improve their relationships.

The other area of expertise I focus on is working with those with substance use concerns, as well as with those who are working towards living a recovery lifestyle. While exploring one’s use of substance is never easy, I find it essential for one to explore their current or past use in a safe and judgment free environment.

My diverse areas of expertise, training, and passion to assist others in the process of self-discovery allow me the ability to work with a multitude of presenting concerns. I have experience utilizing traditional therapy modalities as well as sandtray, non-directive, and creative expression therapies. The treatment modality will depend on the individual needs of each client. If you are considering making changes to improve your life, please consider contacting me for an initial appointment.
